Cat-Thief Active In My Neighborhood

“Cat thief active in neighborhood Westeinde.

In westeinde there is a cat-thief being active, that’s what worried neighbors are worried about. Since Januari the first there are already three cats missing and that’s why some people in Westeinde are starting a flyeraction” – Huis aan Huis.

I already noticed how many cats were missing since December. Every week we got the newspaper about our town/city, there was always an article in it about a cat missing. The age was usually between 1 and 9 years old. I always wondered why they were missing, had they ran away? Weren’t they spayed or neutered? But the article from yesterday in the newspaper seems to make sense.

Since January there already have been three cats missing. I’m counting myself so lucky that I decided to keep my cats indoor. But there are others cats to worry about! Limbo for example? Good thing I saw him this week, but he seems to be away more often. I have no idea what he is up to sometimes.

Next to Limbo there are a good 4 to 7 cats that are outside-cats in my street. I don’t even want to think about it if one of them goes missing. I can’t even imagine how their owner would feel. If Suki or Hiro would go missing? Compare to it to your own child that’s being kidnapped. I’d be devastated. I don’t even want to know what that person is going to do with those cats.

So what I’m going to do? Look out, and I think I’m going to print out some simple flyers, that says that they should keep their cats inside as much as possible because there is a cat-thief going on stealing cats for unknown reasons. How does that sound?

Do you have experience with a cat thief or cat hater?

  1. When we saw the heading for your post, we thought the kitty was the thief, with which we have had some experience. To find out someone is stealing cats is really terrible. We think the flyers are a good idea, and we think you should also visit your neighbors and urge them to keep their kitties in as well. Good luck. 2. I saw you mentioned this on facebook. It’s a rotten world sometimes, but I think you’re doing a good thing putting up the flyers. I hope the trouble ends soon and that all those kitties are okay.

  3. This is so sad, I am so sorry to hear this that even newspaper has reported. Cat haters are sadly are many, but I just don’t talk to them. Cat theif, a wonderful women had lost her Persian cat to these horrible people who sold them to a pet store. Even police officials were of no use.

  4. I’m wondering what benefit one could gain from stealing cats. It’s not like you could really sell an adult cat, or make a significant income out of it.

I hope these cats eat these criminals.
