Re-posting a few cat facts that I posted when I started this blog!
- In ancient Egypt, killing a cat was a crime punishable by death.
- In multi-cat households, cats of the opposite sex usually get along better.
- The domestic cat is the only species able to hold its tail vertically while walking.
- The ancient Egyptians were the first civilization to realize the cat’s potential as a vermin hunter and tamed cats to protect the corn supplies on which their lives depended.
- Almost 10% of a cat’s bones are in its tail, and the tail is used to maintain balance.
- Cats must have fat in their diet because they can’t produce it on their own.
- A cat has two vocal chords, and can make over 100 sounds.
- A cat can jump 5 times as high as it is tall.
- Cats come back to full alertness from the sleep state faster than any other creäture.

Wow, 100 sounds, huh, that means I’m a singer

Killing a cat should be punishable by death everywhere.
I can vouch for the sleep state to awake bit based on current experience with Pixels
Killing an animal should be punished by death everywhere! YES!
Thanks to share!
Life is not fair. I want a tail too. Why can’t I have a tail?
I don’t know!
I like to try out the first 50/60 sounds before the humans get out of bed! Love the facts! Bisous Bailey
Not sure if your humans will appreciate it B!
Most of these facts I did not know; though, some things I have observed: the multi-cat household with opposite sexes getting along better. When we had our three boys, the last to join us, Mauricio, was so jealous and sprayed everywhere. And the coming to alertness I have definitely seen. I am going to print this list.
