Time for some facts today! I know you have seen some of those posts before, but that doesn’t make them less important, right?
Blinking
Cats blink and narrow their eyes when they accidentally make eye contact with other cats. To make friends with an unfamiliar cat, blink and look away when you catch his eyes.
Praising
Cats cannot understand punishment as humans do, they must be praised and rewarded for the desired behavior.
Raw Meat
Giving your cat a strip of raw meat everyday to chew on will keep his gums and teeth in good condition. Suitable meats include poultry, rabbit, or beef (that has been deboned!).
Purring
Young cats purr in a monotone way, while older cats do so in two to three resonant notes.
Sleeping
Cats like to nap rather than sleeping but when they are relaxed enough they will enter a deeper sleep. When they enter that deep sleep cats produce the same brain wave patterns that we do when we dream.
Do you give your cat raw meat?

Little Binky doesn’t like raw meat, she’s a very picky moo moo
That’s okay, Hiro doesn’t like it either.
This is a miniature of my cat Hazel – I remember the days! Now she just wants to bite my leg and hounds me into feeding her regularly! How they change…
Cath
ps (you can see a photo of Hazel on my blog down the side bar, looking scared).
Hazel is very pretty!
Thank you – she is!
Wow! I didn’t know any of this information. I especially liked the info related to keeping my feline friends’ gums and teeth healthy. Thanks for the tips. Happy Friday!
Thank you Elizabeth! You have a good Friday too!

Who knows they’ll like it!
We give scraps of the raw meat when we prepare to cook, and try not to give them too much of the fat. They love it, to the point of annoyance!
What kind of meat do you give them usually? Or does it depend on what you eat?
Whatever we are having. Usually chicken! Or minced beef – we’ve not been able to afford much else for the last few years. But we used to get nice filet mingnon from our local butcher, and I’d give them the not-terribly-fatty bits from that, too. I don’t offer raw pork to them. I think hubby gives Spot raw sausage, though – I’d say no, but it’s a very small amount.
What’s Mingnon?
Sorry! Spelling error. Mignon! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filet_mignon
I don’t think I ever had that!
Barnaby likes raw meat – especially meat from my bones!
Oh, that little thief.
Must note Cats cannot have gammon apparently xxx
