Cat Books

My boyfriend always complains about how many books about cats I have. Especially when I’m in a bookstore, looking for more books about cats that seem interesting. I just find it interesting to read so many books about cats. Some authors have different views on things, but most have the same things in it. I have a few books about training cats, facts, but most of them are those typical books about history, health and behavior, and two of them are different. One is a story, and one is a biography from the Cat Daddy Jackson Galaxy. Some are in English, and some are in Dutch!

I just realized I miss three books that aren't on this picture.

I think I’ll make a list of all the books I own soon!

Do you have ( a lot) books about cats?

  1. We have two books about cats. One is about inoculation and the other about Clicker Training; huMum tried the Clicker Training with me but I found it boring (why working for treats if you can get one just by looking cute – what´s hard work enough, I find) The other books we own are 90% Science Fiction stories, we love it :)

  2. I have a lot of books that feature cats – as characters or pets of main characters and who often “help” solve mysteries, etc. I love a good story about a cat (and if they happen to “own” a few humans, that’s find too!!). :D

  3. That looks familiar :D . At my old apartment apparently everyone knew I was a cat lady. One day when I came home, I found two books about cats in my mailbox. Until this day I don’t know which neighbor put them there :) .

  4. I don’t think I even own books about cats :3 I’m not much of a reader of informative books, I usually prefer novels. I believe it was the Dutch writer Annie M.G. Schmidt, of whom there’s been publised a compilation of cat stories she wrote about a year or so ago.

  5. My favorite (fiction) cat book is Jennie (also published as The Abandoned) by Paul Gallico. Also Gallico’s book Thomasina, which was made into a sweet movie. He definitely inspires my own writing and love of animals.

      • They are both excellent! Jennie is about transforming into a cat, and Gallico really got creative and imaginative showing the hardships and joys — nothing else quite like that book! Thomasina is about a vet’s daughter and her cat, and a sweet “witch” who enters their lives. Both will stay with your heart forever after you’ve read them!
